Job summary

PJ Whelihan's Restaurant + Pub in Hatfield, PA, is seeking a Front of House Manager to support the General Manager in planning, organizing, and training to meet restaurant objectives. You’ll oversee sales, labor and food costs, guest service, food quality, and sanitation.

This role requires supervisory experience in a high-volume, full-service setting with ServSafe certification and strong leadership. You’ll manage staff, budgets, and ensure a welcoming guest experience while driving performance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year supervisory experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
• ServSafe Certification required.
• Ability to lead and make decisions using restaurant management guidelines.
• Ability to analyze P&L statements and work within a budget.
• Friendly, approachable attitude and ability to communicate effectively to employees, management and guests.
• Have a "can-do" attitude, initiative, and the willingness to learn and execute quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with a scheduling, time and attendance and POS system.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests feel welcome and receive friendly, courteous service at all times.
• Support servers and host staff and check-in with guests to validate service meets standards.
• Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance, and sanitation through training and a positive work environment.
• Control cash and receipts per restaurant policies.
• Partner with the General Manager on hiring decisions.
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service across Front/Back of House.
• Develop staff in service, food presentation, safety and sanitation.
• Prepare forms, reports and schedules in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback and coaching; document performance.
• Assist GM with marketing and promotions.
• Enforce policies and administer corrective action for violations.
• Schedule staff to meet activity and labor cost objectives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and labor regulations.
