I|O Godfrey, the energetic, year-round rooftop lounge at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, offers sweeping views of the city from its fourth floor perch in River North. Our menu features globally-inspired fare, including small plates, sushi, steaks, and more. The rooftop’s kitchen cocktail program provides guests with complex, balanced drinks, some with up to 16 ingredients. I|O Godfrey is Chicago's largest indoor-outdoor rooftop and hosts high-energy nightlife and events, such as the Kentucky Derby Viewing Event and the Haunted Hotel. It recently won the national Lounge of the Year award.

Purpose and Performance Goals

All employees are expected to deliver exceptional service and create a warm, friendly atmosphere for guests. Teamwork, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the floor, assist staff, and ensure smooth operations
  • Address customer issues and find solutions
  • Communicate with guests via phone and document details
  • Handle complaints and order issues
  • Oversee inventory, supplies, and organization of storage zones
  • Manage Banquet and Social Events, including setup and breakdown
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
  • Report on customer satisfaction to the General Manager
  • Identify areas for service, cost, and safety improvements
  • Implement monthly ideas to increase revenue or reduce costs
  • Delegate tasks and monitor team performance
  • Train and develop staff
  • Handle staff and customer complaints
  • Complete end-of-night audits and communicate findings
  • Perform venue walkthroughs before opening and after closing
  • Ensure side work is completed and floor plans are executed and restored
  • Coordinate staff schedules and communicate directly with team
  • Work with Micros and Tock systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Micros POS and Tock reservation platform preferred
  • 3-5 years in hotel restaurant, bar, or nightlife venue preferred
Language Skills

Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in the primary language of the property.

Mathematical Skills

Basic arithmetic skills required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Certificates

ServSafe and ServSafe Allergens Certified.

Hours

Flexible, including nights, weekends, holidays, and seasonal shifts.
