Job summary

This full-time, non-exempt position requires reliable evening, weekend, and holiday availability and a strong focus on customer service and accuracy. You will handle transactions, assist customers, contribute to displays, and support donation processing, reporting to the Store Manager and Lead Front of House Associate in

Qualifications

• Friendly, service-minded person with a passion for serving the community and treating customers with dignity and respect.
• Strong reading comprehension to understand and follow procedures.
• Basic math skills and comfort with computers and standard retail applications.
• Ability to use retail equipment including POS, barcode scanners, label printers and tagging equipment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Respect for Catholic Church teachings and the mission of St. Vincent de Paul.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere through friendly, helpful customer interactions.
• Process all transactions accurately, including vouchers, cash, and card payments, with proper documentation.
• Handle merchandise with care during checkout and bagging, and keep the POS area organized and clean.
• Answer phone inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Process returned merchandise according to established procedures.
• Help prepare merchandise by sorting, pricing, stocking, and creating displays.
• Keep the sales floor organized, clean, and shoppable during business hours.
• Monitor and restock supplies such as bags, hangers, receipt paper, and packaging materials.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean interior/exterior windows and doors on schedule, and clean fixtures as needed.
• Pitch in with donation processing and other duties as required.
