Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Dining and under thesupervision of the Service Supervisors, the Front of the HouseAssistant is responsible for restocking food and beverage products,maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, and providing friendly,efficient customer service. The Front of the House Assistantsupports daily dining operations by ensuring supplies arereplenished and service areas remain clean and organized. Keyresponsibilities include inventory monitoring, general cleaningduties, and assisting guests with their dining needs. This positionis essential in helping create a positive and seamless diningexperience for the campus community.
Job Duties
- 50% - Merchandising, restocking and inventory management Checkand restock all self-serve areas, including coffee, tea, milk,cereal, soda fountain, glass-door coolers, and open-airmerchandisers. Refill grab-and-go snack shelves and display racks,as well as condiment stations and water dispensers. Ensure food andbeverage stations are fully stocked with clean plates, bowls, cups,and takeout containers. Maintain adequate supplies of silverwareand napkins at cashier stations. - (Essential)
- 30% - Cleaning and Maintenance Ensure food and beverage serviceand storage areas are kept clean and well-organized at all times.Break down cardboard boxes and dispose of plastic wrapping asneeded. Sweep floors regularly and address any food or beveragespills promptly. Keep the dining area neat by wiping tables,organizing chairs, and returning condiments to their properstations. - (Essential)
- 10% - Customer Service Provide courteous, professional serviceto all guests. Assist customers with questions, requests, orissues, and enforce dining policies when necessary. Monitor forpotential theft and report any suspicious activity or concerns tomanagement. - (Essential)
- 10% - Safety and Hazard Prevention Perform all tasks in a safemanner, using appropriate equipment and safety signage. Remainalert to potential safety hazards and take steps to preventaccidents. Support a safe environment for guests, staff, andequipment through proactive attention to workplace safety. -(Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent combination ofeducation, training and experience.
- Read, write and speak English.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and retain the required jobskills for service and sanitation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with speed and efficiencyfollowing proper sanitation guidelines and have basic knowledge ofhow to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Googledrives/folders/forms or any combination of productivity programsapplicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough;skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems andhandling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
- Strong commitment to a quality work product.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, inwriting and electronically.
