Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Dining and under thesupervision of Service Supervisors, the Cashier is responsible forproviding efficient and accurate customer service by processingsales transactions using the Micros point-of-sale system. This rolealso involves training casual staff, restocking food and beverageitems, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. The Cashierensures the accuracy of all cash and debit transactions whilesupporting smooth daily operations.
Job Duties
- 40% - Processes customer sales transactions accurately andefficiently using the Micros point-of-sale system, handling bothcash and debit payments. Counts and maintains the opening cashfloat, reconciles transactions at shift end, and deposits cashaccording to established policies, addressing any discrepancieswith the supervisor. - (Essential)
- 15% - Restock food and beverage products and supplies, ensuringbeverage stations—including coffee, tea, milk, cereal, sodafountain, and toaster areas—are clean, fully stocked, and set upfor service. Prepares the oatmeal and toppings station, refillsice, and replenishes water dispensers, condiment stations, andgrab-and-go snacks throughout the shift and at closing. -(Essential)
- 15% - Performs general cleaning duties to maintain a clean andorganized environment. Ensures all food and beverage display andstorage areas are kept clean and orderly at all times. Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent combination ofeducation, training and experience.
- Read, write and speak English. Demonstrated math skills toaccurately reconcile cash and debit sales reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Googledrives/folders/forms or any combination of productivity programsapplicable to position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough;skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems andhandling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.Strong commitment to a quality work product.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, inwriting and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills asevidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety ofconstituencies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in food service operations in afast-paced environment.
- Experience handling cash transactions using a point of saleregister, preferably Micros or similar system.
EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $18.42/hr
