Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection team member to deter theft and maintain safety at the front and store areas. You will engage customers, verify receipts, and respond to security alerts while keeping team members and guests safe.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years in customer service or asset protection, and strong communication skills. Physical mobility and the ability to learn new security tech are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience preferred.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to move throughout the work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond quickly and urgently to alerts and incidents.
• Ability to learn and apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through active presence and engagement with customers.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Reduce store disruption using de-escalation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
