Job summary

Aquent is seeking a front-end engineer in Austin to help shape enterprise web experiences and deliver accessible, responsive interfaces across devices. You will build reusable UI components, translate designs into production-ready experiences, and collaborate with designers, analysts, and engineers to implement high-quality digital solutions.

Proficiency with React/Next.js, TypeScript, and headless CMSs (e.g., Sanity) is expected, along with REST/GraphQL integrations, Git workflows, and Agile

Qualifications

• Proficient, hands-on experience building modern web applications using React and/or NextJS.
• Experience developing reusable components and maintainable front-end code.
• Experience integrating headless CMS platforms to populate frontend environments.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and modern JavaScript development patterns.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and semantic HTML practices.
• Basic understanding of headless CMS platforms and content-driven web architectures.
• Exposure to API integrations using REST and/or GraphQL.

• Familiarity with debugging tools, browser developer tools, and troubleshooting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise web experiences using modern frameworks like NextJS, React, TypeScript, and headless CMS platforms.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable UI components that support a robust digital design system.
• Translate UX and visual designs into responsive, accessible, and performant web experiences across various devices and browsers.
• Partner closely with designers, content authors, business analysts, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
• Configure and support content models, schemas, and within headless CMS environments.
• Develop integrations with APIs and dynamic content sources to power personalized customer experiences.
• Optimize websites for performance, accessibility standards (WCAG), SEO, and responsive behavior.
• Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile team ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, styling issues, content rendering issues, and performance concerns.
• Adhere to established development standards, testing practices, accessibility requirements, and governance processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guidance, and support materials.
• Continuously learn emerging technologies and contribute innovative ideas that enhance team effectiveness and digital experiences.
• Collaborate across marketing, creative, technology, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with ReactJS and NextJS.
• Experience working with Sanity CMS, including content modeling, schemas, Studio configuration, or GROQ queries.
• Experience building applications with TypeScript.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS and component-based design systems.
• Familiarity with reusable pattern libraries and enterprise design systems.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Mabl, Jest/Vitest, or similar development and testing tools.
• Experience working in regulated industries.
• Demonstrated passion for learning new technologies and modern web development practices.
