Job summary

Food City in Hazard, KY is seeking a front-end supervisor to oversee cashiers, courtesy clerks, and fuel associates, ensuring courteous service and adherence to policies. The role emphasizes security of funds, efficient checkouts, and compliance with state/local laws and company rules.

The position involves supervising safe operations, promoting ValuCard, and maintaining front-end housekeeping while supporting the store's mission to deliver excellent customer service and safe shopping

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard Physical and Mental demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain efficient and courteous service to customers at all times to ensure that the 'No more than two customers waiting in line' policy is followed.
• Supervise and monitor the total functions of the front end.
• Supervise and monitor all cashiers, courtesy clerks, and fuel associates.
• Maintain security of safe and change funds and count safe during scheduled shifts.
• Count and verify funds, deposits, and check handling per policy.
• Promote use of ValuCard and enforce coupon handling procedures.
• Monitor supply usage and maintain front-end housekeeping (check stands, store fronts, carts, parking lot).
• Enforce dress code and ensure funds are secured; follow AML/MSB policies where required.
• Assist in keeping checkout lines moving and help unload carts; support two-party checks and banking procedures.
• Follow policies for Money Transfers, Money Orders, stamps, and other services; ensure breaks are taken as scheduled.
