Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets in Utica, NY is seeking a Front End Associate to support daily store operations in Store 08372 Front End. You will help train associates, ensure safety and sanitation standards, and manage cash handling and transactions in a busy front-end environment.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Must have effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage a team.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department associates are properly trained by certified trainers.
• Maintain department and store communications via Cash Office/Front End boards and task management.
• Observe and ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
• Observe and follow all company policies and procedures; support safety standards.
• Communicate equipment repairs or maintenance needs; keep work area safe.
• Ensure front end operations and transactions are handled per policy.
• Supervise front end/office operations, including cleanliness and customer service.
• Secure cash drawers when unattended; protect company assets.
• Understand labor and productivity reports, scheduling, and ordering.
• Follow Front End standard practices to ensure efficient operations.
• Assist in performance appraisals and service observations.
• Maintain neat personal appearance and follow dress policy.
• Perform cashier and/or bagging functions, as needed.
• Assist in service desk/kiosk and bookkeeper tasks.
• Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned.
