Job summary

US Foods in The Dalles is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to drive store performance, front-end operations, and staff development. You will support the Store Manager in executing the annual operating plan, training employees, and maintaining strong customer service.

The role requires a minimum four years in retail and two years in a supervisory capacity, with a flexible schedule and strong computer/cash handling skills. Demands include lifting and active front-end supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years experience in a retail work environment.
• At least two years of management/supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Proficiency with computer use, spreadsheets, word processing, email and internet software.
• Cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach front-end employees for efficient service and shrink control.
• Coordinate with Store Manager and HR on progressive discipline when needed.
• Assist in budgeting and plan-to-profit activities; manage shrinkage and inventory processes.
• Train front-end staff on required programs and SOPs; ensure store policies are followed.
• Lead in staffing, scheduling, and directing daily store operations to achieve goals.
• Oversee merchandising programs, product receiving, restocking and demonstrations.
