CarGurus is seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern (Front-End) to work on real-world web applications. You will build UIs with React, collaborate with design, backend, and product teams, and participate in testing and performance optimization to enhance user experiences.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
• Passionate about building real-world web applications.
• Hands-on experience building UIs using React or similar component-based frameworks via projects, bootcamps, or personal apps.
• Exposure to writing basic automated tests and diagnosing failures in local and CI environments.
• Keen eye for responsive design, accessible UI and good UX.

Responsibilities

• Use experiments, analytics, testing, and performance techniques to improve customer experiences and ensure reliable behavior across devices and user states.
• Participate in technical design, code review, debugging, incident follow-up, and incremental refactoring while partnering with product, design, backend, and platform teams through production verification.
