Job summary

Emmes Group's Essex Management unit seeks a Software Engineer (Front-End) to contribute to enterprise health IT projects. The role is based mainly in a remote US setting with ~10% annual on-site at the Rockville, MD HQ for kickoffs, team-building and town halls.

You will work within a software engineering team on scalable, reliable systems for cancer clinical trials and research, utilizing modern frontend frameworks and cross-functional collaboration in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Experience coding in C#/.NET, Python, Java, or comparable languages.
• Experience building enterprise software in Azure Cloud using Azure services.
• Experience developing software with ORM (SQLAlchemy).
• Experience developing microservices with RESTful API or gRPC.
• Experience in Agile SCRUM or Kanban environments.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• 6 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages and data structures/algorithms.
• Azure Fundamentals or Associate certification.
• Bachelor or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage individual task priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Develop scalable, reliable, enterprise software systems and services.
• Write well-tested and maintainable code with unit/integration/BDD tests.
• Document architecture, APIs, and technical SOPs.
• Participate in SCRUM Sprint planning, standups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate in CI/CD Agile SCRUM environment across tiers.
• Mentor junior team members and shadow senior team members during interviews.
