Job summary

Emmes Group is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join the Essex Management team. The role focuses on enterprise software for cancer clinical trials and research, with mostly remote work within the United States and periodic HQ visits in Rockville, Maryland.

You will develop scalable systems in Azure, collaborate in an Agile environment, and contribute to documentation and mentoring. A strong background in C#/.NET, Python, Java, and cloud technologies is required.

Qualifications

• Six years of software development experience in one or more programming languages and with data structures/algorithms.
• Experience coding C#/.NET, Python, Java, or comparable languages.
• Experience building enterprise software on Azure Cloud using Azure services listed in the posting.
• Experience with ORM libraries such as SQLAlchemy for relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience developing microservices with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC.
• Proficient in Agile development with SCRUM or Kanban.
• Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions familiarity.
• Azure Fundamentals or Associate certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage task priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Develop scalable, reliable enterprise software and services.
• Write well-tested, maintainable code with unit/integration/BDD tests.
• Contribute to architecture diagrams, API docs, and SOPs.
• Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and team standups.
• Work in a CI/CD environment to move features across tiers.
• Mentor junior team members and shadow senior engineers.
