Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading front-end operations, coordinating checkout flow, and supporting cashiers and service desk teams. You will train team members, perform on-the-job coaching, support market programs and develop efficiency, with daily tasks including shift handoffs, task assignments, and monitoring frontline performance.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum.
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing.
• The amount of weight or frequency of such activities may vary depending on a team member's shift during the day, the day of the week, the month or season, and/or other staff on duty.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.

• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
