Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a Front-End Revenue Cycle Specialist at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

The role covers patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration, and point-of-service collections, ensuring accurate data and educating patients on financial responsibilities. Responsibilities include financial counseling referrals, Medicare compliance, valuables management, morgue coordination, and on-site coverage at arrival desks and the Emergency

Qualifications

• High school diploma completed; additional courses or training preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills with medical software.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Over three years of related health care experience with third party payers preferred.
• CHAA/CHAM encouraged.
• Vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or an approved exemption may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration, and point-of-service collections.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and provide financial counseling referrals.
• Coordinate Medicare compliance and valuables management.
• Provide on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department; collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams.
