Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Service Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the store front. You will greet customers, handle transactions and maintain accuracy in cash handling while supporting the Customer Service Manager.

The role requires effective communication, a high school diploma, and the ability to learn multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment. This is a part-time on-site position at our New Bern location.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, friendly service to customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt for easier bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Scan customers' orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and cash handling; oversee accuracy of transactions.
