Job summary

Boise Co-Op is seeking a Front End team member to ensure smooth checkout operations and outstanding customer service at our Boise store. You will assist cashiers, process transactions accurately, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient shopping experience for members and customers.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to handle busy periods with a calm, courteous approach. Evening and weekend availability is a plus in a busy grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

• Ability to quickly learn PLU codes and procedures.
• Calm, objective approach to resolving issues under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate checkout with accurate SKU, quantity, and weight entry into the POS.
• Engage customers warmly and share membership information during transactions.
• Guide customers to Round Up for the monthly nonprofit to support Co-Op values.
• Follow cash handling and check receiving procedures for till and safe accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with alcohol sale regulations.
• Monitor self-checkout stations and assist customers as needed.
• Assign registers and tasks to cashiers to ensure smooth Front End operations.
• Communicate daily huddle info to staff for necessary updates.
• Keep Front End, foyer, and store entrance clean and organized.
• Perform register drops, loans, and deposits per procedures.
