Job summary

Lowe’s is seeking a capable retail associate in Ohio to deliver strong customer service, assist shoppers with locating and selecting merchandise, and handle POS transactions accurately. You’ll help load items, answer questions, and ensure price matches while maintaining store cleanliness and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a year of cashier experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with retail technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise
• Responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them to store areas and walking them through projects
• Communicates information about stock, special order merchandise, features, application and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team)
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns and refunds per company guidelines
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, bags merchandise
• Assists in line vesting to speed checkout and add registers if needed
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and checks equipment
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders and signs off on loading tickets
• Looks up product information and price match data
• Records items used in the store on the store use lists
• Performs cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists with alarms
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management
• Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and safety programs
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment
• Adheres to safety requirements for job duties and equipment
• Operates store equipment as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
