Qualifications

• Basic mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Understanding of checks, WIC vouchers, credit or debit, and EBT transactions
• Ability to communicate complex instructions about store policies and procedures
• Ability to read and write English
• Strong interpersonal communication and judgment in guest checkout processes

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service by greeting and thanking guests
• Process guest purchases quickly and accurately
• Weigh and scan merchandise
• Respond to guest questions and explain store policies in a courteous manner
• Ensure correct handling of coupons and payments during checkout
• Bag guest purchases quickly without overfilling bags or damaging items
• Maintain clean check-stand area and equipment
• Follow safety rules and notify a supervisor of hazards
