Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a friendly Front End Associate at Store 00619 in Rocky Mount, NC. You will provide fast, accurate customer service, greet shoppers, operate the checkout, and support store front-end standards while assisting the Customer Service Manager as needed.

Responsibilities include scanning items, handling payments, bagging, maintaining a neat front-end area, and following safety and cash procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform cashier and service center duties.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items
• Follow correct bagging procedures for bag types
• Scan customers' orders and handle payments per standard practice
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction
• Maintain accurate cash control
• Operate the front end per surge plan when needed
• Perform Food Lion To-Go Runner tasks when scheduled or required
• Ensure check stands have proper bags and receipt paper
• Report any register malfunction to supervisor
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
