Job summary

Food Lion in Cary, NC is looking for a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service at the store’s front end. You will greet customers, scan items, handle payments and help keep the front end neat and organized.

Responsibilities include accurate cash handling, following bagging procedures, assisting with To-Go orders when scheduled, and performing other duties as assigned to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and handle payments per standard practice.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car, including To-Go orders.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance as needed to meet service standards.
• Check prices quickly and accurately and keep front-end area neat and clean.
• Report any register issues and ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is functional.
