Vallarta Supermarkets in Whittier, CA is hiring a Courtesy Clerk to provide outstanding customer service at the check stand, bag groceries, assist with carry-out, and keep areas clean and safe. You’ll greet customers, locate products, and support a fast-paced, festive environment while upholding Vallarta’s values.

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers and team members while using Vallarta’s six steps of extraordinary service.
• Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
• Bag groceries according to Vallarta’s procedures and customer requests.
• Assist customers with carry-out service and locating products in the store.
• Perform accurate price checks as requested.
• Check and secure items at the bottom of shopping carts when trained.
• Perform 'go-backs,' returning items to shelves.
• Safely gather shopping carts using reflective vest and rope.
• Assist with spills, cleaning, and trash removal (if trained).
• Clean store perimeters, including cart corrals, parking lot, sidewalks, and receiving dock.
• Monitor and report building maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Keep janitorial room organized and stocked with approved supplies (if trained).
• Always maintain high housekeeping and safety standards.
• Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.
• Abide by all store rules, company policies, and Employee Handbook.
• Report injuries, unsafe conditions, or misconduct to management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
