Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a part-time Front End/Cashier associate to provide fast, friendly service to customers at the Wilmington store. You will greet customers, scan orders, handle payments, bag groceries, and help maintain a clean front end in line with Food Lion standards.

The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, knowledge of checkout procedures, and proactive customer assistance to ensure a positive shopping experience. Training is provided to support quick skill development.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for efficient bagging.
• Scan orders and handle payment transactions per standard practice.
• Follow proper bagging procedures and cash handling procedures.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car.
• Maintain clean, neat work station and front end area.
• Report any register issues to management and ensure MVP savings kiosk is stocked and functional.
