Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, accurate, and courteous service at the checkout and service desk. You will greet customers, handle transactions, bag groceries, and help maintain a clean, organized front end according to store standards.

You will work with store teams to ensure a positive shopping experience, follow cash handling procedures, and assist customers with questions while upholding Food Lion's customer service standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and handle payments per standard practice.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car.
• Maintain a neat and clean front end area and wear the Food Lion uniform.
