Job summary

Food Lion in Fort Mill, SC is hiring a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and maintain store standards. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, bag groceries, and assist with To-Go orders when needed.

This role requires good communication, the ability to multitask, and adherence to cash-handling procedures. A high school diploma is preferred; physical stamina for standing and lifting is important. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and uses his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and assist with bagging items.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for the use of bags by type.
• Scan customers' orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take orders to their car, including To-Go orders if applicable.
• Maintain a neat and clean front-end area and work station.
• Perform the task of cashier when scheduled or as needed per surge plans.
• Ensure check stands have proper bags and receipt paper and restock as needed.
