Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a Front End Associate at our Topeka store to deliver friendly, efficient service and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.

You will greet customers, escort to products, assist with loading items and process transactions with accuracy and courtesy. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong math skills for basic calculations.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions and by thanking customers for their business.
• Greet customers and assist them by escorting to products, loading/unloading heavy items and helping them retrieve out of reach items.
• Anticipate customer needs; communicate effectively and respond to questions to resolve issues and strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit and labor goals through effective cost control, labor efficiencies, and shrink control.
• Determine work priorities and task lists to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate customer check-out and that front-end associates adhere to policies and laws.
• Train, monitor and coach associates on front end policies and procedures including tender handling, price checks, and shrink reduction.
• Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager in their absence.
• Gain knowledge of checkout policies and procedures, operations and bookkeeping tasks.
