Job summary

ShopRite of Birney Plaza in Moosic, PA is seeking a Front-End Associate to deliver a great customer experience, scan, price and bag products, process payments, and handle returns per policy. You will greet customers, maintain a clean store area, and assist with Wakefern program eligibility using the register system.

Ideal candidates read, write and speak English, can perform basic math, stand long hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work well with others while following safety and QA procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English proficiently.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products without allergic issues.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents while performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Enter customer information for eligibility of Wakefern programs.
• Understand cash register operations and follow cash handling procedures.
• Be knowledgeable about products carried in the store.
• Sort and return items to stock, prioritizing perishables.
• Handle damaged merchandise per company procedures.
• Perform price checks as needed.
• Issue rain checks and update information as required.
• Perform ScanRites according to procedures.
• Answer phones professionally and direct as policy dictates.
• Report equipment problems promptly and maintain equipment.
• Understand digital processing equipment and item placement.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand at workstation for long shifts and adhere to safety rules.
• Follow shrink guidelines for Front-End operations.
• Lift/move merchandise up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Follow QA hand washing and wear gloves when handling food.
• Complete department training and uphold ShopRite service priorities.
• Maintain punctual attendance and work overtime as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others and adapt as needed.
