Job summary

Adams Hometown Markets is seeking a part-time Cashier to handle customer transactions and deliver excellent service. You will assist customers, process purchases, and promote loyalty programs while ensuring accuracy and safety during all steps of the checkout process.

The role requires readiness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, with an expected 15–25 hours per week. Prior retail experience and ServeSafe certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year retail experience or equivalent
• ServeSafe certification or comparable
• Physical abilities and stamina required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with locating products, inquiries and promotions.
• Process purchases accurately using cash, credit/debit, or other payment methods.
• Provide correct change for cash transactions.
• Count and reconcile cash drawer at shift start and end.
• Promote loyalty programs, discounts, and special promotions.
• Bag and handle items carefully; assist customers with bags/carts.
• Resolve customer concerns with a positive, helpful attitude.
• Adhere to security measures and safety standards during transactions.
