Job summary

Hen House Market is seeking a friendly Cashier to join our team. You will provide a welcoming checkout experience, process transactions quickly, and help guests find products that meet their needs.

Responsibilities include operating POS systems, maintaining store standards, and supporting other front-end tasks. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred. Experience in grocery/retail is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and respectful guest service at all times.
• Accurately scan and process guest purchases while maintaining speed and accuracy.
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments following proper procedures.
• Stay informed on promotions, pricing, and store initiatives to support sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Engage with guests to answer questions and connect them with products meeting their needs.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and leadership to support smooth front-end operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area.
• Stock and face product placement as needed.
• Operate POS systems and scanners accurately.
• Monitor inventory near checkout areas and report issues.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with bagging, restocking, cleaning, and supporting other departments as needed.
• Remain productive during slower periods by supporting store presentation and identifying opportunities to improve the guest experience.
