Food Lion is hiring for a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and maintain store standards. You will greet customers, assist with bagging, and handle transactions with accuracy while supporting efficient front-end operations.

The role requires strong communication, willingness to learn multiple tasks, and the physical stamina to stand and perform routine duties in a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow bagging procedures for each bag type.
• Scan customer orders and handle payment transactions according to standard practice.
• Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present.
• Follow procedures for handling cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and WIC vouchers.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction.
• Maintain accurate cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take their order to their car.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance to service customers per standards.
• Check prices quickly and accurately.
• Wear Food Lion uniform and keep a neat appearance.
