Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Illinois is seeking a Cashier to provide excellent customer service, process transactions accurately, and maintain clean, organized Front End areas.

You will follow cash handling procedures, assist with training, and support efficient store operations in a fast-paced environment. This entry-level role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to policies, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates patience in dealing with customers and Team Members.
• Maintains proficiency with the Cashier Code Book and PLUs.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to team members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
• Upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation.
• Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
• Uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items.
• Cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register.
• Follows all cash handling procedures – meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy.
• May assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members.
• Assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines.
• Proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership.
• Arrives to workstation on time, groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts.
• Provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prep, storage, and merchandising.
• Follows and complies with established procedures, including health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment; maintains equipment per standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by store or company leadership.
