Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a customer-focused Cashier to support checkout operations, assist customers, and maintain a clean, inviting front-end area. You will handle registers, bag groceries, and provide courteous service to shoppers and Team Members.

• Demonstrates patience when dealing with customers and Team Members.
• Maintains proficiency with the Cashier Code Book and PLUs.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information clearly to customers, vendors, and Team Members.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
• Ability to follow directions, manage time, and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
• Upholds regulations concerning sale of alcohol and taxation.
• Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
• Keeps Front End areas clean and stocked, including own register.
• Maintains cash handling procedures and cashier variance policy.
• May assist with training of new Cashier Team Members.
• Assist supervisor in managing customer flow and reduce wait times.
• Participate in company programs as directed by leadership.
• Arrive on time and prepared for shifts and trainings.
