Job summary

Kroger is seeking a part-time Customer Service/Cashier at our Denver store. You will deliver friendly service, operate the POS, and handle transactions and refunds while maintaining a clean checkstand area.

Responsibilities include answering phones, processing payments, and upholding corporate policies. You’ll also support store initiatives and assist customers with disabilities, minors, and seniors as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or relevant education/experience
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk
• Minimum 18 years of age/19 in certain states for tobacco
• Ability to pass drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Weekend shifts, various shifts and overtime as needed
• Organize and prioritize tasks/projects
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Related retail experience

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage excellent customer service
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bag merchandise
• Maintain price discrepancy logs
• Keep checkstand area clean
• Answer telephones
• Comply with corporate policies
• Support company initiatives
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated or removed at POS
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations as needed
• Maintain store accounting functions
• Prepare bank deposits of excess funds
• Open/close Customer Service Desk
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, POs, equipment rentals
• Provide lottery service (except Alaska) and fish & game licenses
• Send/receive faxes
• Administer lost and found
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments
• Manage conflicts constructively
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
