NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development - Job Description

The NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is recruiting for a Clerical Associate III to serve as a Front Door Receptionist at the Family Independence Administration Model Center. This full-time, entry-level position offers a pay range of $40,957 to $47,100 annually, with pay based on skills and experience. The role involves:

  1. Receiving and directing visitors, verifying appointments, and providing information about services.
  2. Issuing tickets and passes, reviewing documents, and assisting clients with applications for public assistance programs.
  3. Explaining available services, addressing emergencies, and managing customer flow efficiently.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and one year of clerical experience. Skills required include typing at 20 words per minute. The position requires residency in NYC within 90 days of appointment, with certain exceptions. Additional benefits include eligibility for federal loan forgiveness programs and consideration under the 55-a Program for persons with disabilities.
