Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer at a technology-focused Syracuse location. The role involves welcoming visitors, controlling access, monitoring entry activity, and delivering exceptional customer service at a busy front desk.

The position is full-time with a day schedule and benefits. A valid NYS Security Guard License is required, and CPR/First Aid are preferred so you can respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Driving positions require a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional first point of contact by greeting visitors and delivering customer service per site policies.
• Manage visitor access procedures by verifying ID, coordinating host notifications, issuing credentials, and maintaining records.
• Monitor front desk area, access-control systems, alarms, and communications equipment; report security concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies following established procedures.
• Support a professional workplace by answering phones, receiving deliveries, and communicating clearly with staff and visitors.
