Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer at a technology-focused Syracuse location. The role involves welcoming visitors, controlling access, monitoring entry activity, and delivering exceptional customer service at a busy front desk.

The position is full-time with a day schedule and benefits. A valid NYS Security Guard License is required, and CPR/First Aid are preferred so you can respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Driving positions require a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

• Provide a professional first point of contact at a technology-focused office location by greeting visitors, providing directions, and delivering customer service in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Manage visitor access procedures by verifying identification, coordinating host notifications, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate entry records.
• Monitor the front desk area, access-control systems, alarms, and communications equipment; report unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Support a professional workplace environment by answering phones, receiving deliveries, and communicating clearly with employees, visitors, contractors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
