Dental Assistant - Mercy Health Physicians - Dental Clinic

$2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires!

The Dental Assistant assists the Dentist with various procedures performed at chairside in the Dental Clinic. They are responsible for coordinating patient care, taking and developing oral x-rays, maintaining dental and other supplies and equipment, instructing patients on oral health and preventive measures, and performing general receptionist/clerical/registration/billing duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepares for procedures/exams: greets and escorts patient, prepares patient, equipment, supplies, and obtains chart.
2. Uses suction devices and other tools to keep the oral area clean; prepares restorative materials; takes and develops intra-oral radiographs; assists with various dental procedures.
3. Provides patient education and post-procedure instructions; maintains dental instruments; processes instruments for sterilization; maintains disinfecting solutions.
4. Assists with billing and clerical duties, including filing and maintaining records.

Qualifications:

Education: Vocational/technical degree (Required), completion of dental assistant program

Certifications/Licensing: OH Radiology License, Basic Life Support (CPR) from American Heart Association
