Job summary

Indiana Healthcare Physician Serv is seeking an Office Assistant for the IRMC Physician Group - Maxillofacial Surgery Office in Indiana, PA. This full-time position handles patient check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-desk duties following provider protocols.

You will maintain records, process registrations, collect payments, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering friendly and efficient service to patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Greet and register patients and visitors in a prompt, friendly manner.
• Review and process patient registration forms for accuracy.
• Collect, scan and update personal/financial information (insurance cards, IDs).
• Handle insurance eligibility verification and alerts.
• Collect payments and provide receipts, maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments according to provider protocol.
• Maintain front desk area and waiting room in an orderly condition.
• Forward medical record requests to HIM in a timely fashion.
• Follow HIPAA and confidentiality rules when sharing information.
• Retrieve and manage faxes; obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Travel to other IPG offices to cover front desk when required.
