Responsibilities
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
- Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
- Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
- Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily.
- Balance the day's work.
- Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures according to standards.
- Maintain Front Office computer system operation according to standards.
- Fulfill all Front Office functions between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Handle and follow through on all guest requests during overnight hours.
- Follow safety and emergency procedures according to standards.
- Maintain proper record keeping (log books, etc.) according to standards.
- Be familiar with all policies and house rules.
- Have a working knowledge of security procedures.
- Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed.
- Transfer master or house accounts as necessary.
- Complete reports as requested by management promptly.
- Attend meetings as required by management.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- College coursework in the related field is helpful.
- Previous supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for guest issues and emergencies.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate and choose among courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work well under stress and in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving and workplace conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources.
- Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic.
- Self-management skills.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
