Job summary

Cliffs of Id in Torrance, CA is hiring part-time Front Desk staff. You will be the first point of contact for members and guests, handling check-ins, waivers, inquiries, and memberships while ensuring a welcoming, high-energy gym atmosphere.

The role demands flexibility (evenings/weekends), strong customer service, and comfort with POS systems. CPR/First Aid or related certifications are a plus; compensation starts at $21.00/hour with benefits for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
• Passion for climbing and knowledge of climbing terminology.
• Friendly and calm under pressure while handling customer needs.
• Self-directed with proactive approach to tasks.
• Comfortable with computers and POS systems.
• Customer service or office experience is a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all visitors complete waivers, check in and adhere to gym policies.
• Greeting climbers with a smile, answering calls and responding to emails.
• Processing memberships and online transactions.
• Managing calendar reservations.
• Resolving customer issues professionally and providing solutions.
• Selling merchandise and climbing gear in the retail shop.
• Ensuring climbing and gym safety standards are met and guidance given.
• Keeping the gym clean and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Support other team members and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
