Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group’s Hotel de la Poste in New Orleans (French Quarter) seeks a front desk professional to deliver courteous guest service at check-in/out, handle reservations, and manage cash efficiently. The role blends modern hospitality with historic charm, in a dynamic, guest-focused environment.

You will operate the front desk, support guest needs, and maintain accurate records while upholding the hotel’s welcoming, professional standards in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• Must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Past experience dealing directly with the public and general customer service skills.
• Must be fluent in oral and written English.
• Must be able to use tact and understanding when handling various customer service situations.
• Must be highly organized and pay attention to details while multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and completes check-in procedures using manual and computerized methods to ensure satisfaction.
• Facilitates guest check-out and settles accounts for the next sell.
• Handles cash transactions and maintains accurate records per hotel policy.
• Answers inquiries and accepts reservations, communicates rates, and uses upselling to boost occupancy.
• Maintains knowledge of in-house and area functions to assist guests with timely information.
• Operates PBX for incoming/outgoing calls, wake-up calls, and guest paging.
• Maintains personal bank and cash handling responsibilities.
• Keeps a friendly, courteous demeanor at all times.
