Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking an engaged front desk/office scheduling specialist to greet callers and in-office patients warmly, serving as the first point of contact for our practice. You will manage scheduling with accuracy, updating demographics and insurance information as needed, while handling sensitive medical data with discretion.

The role requires 2–3 years of medical office experience, strong multitasking, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two–three years of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet callers and in-office patients warmly and provide courteous service.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients at our practice.
  • Use sound judgement with calls and in-person interactions, especially with sensitive medical information.
  • Answer calls within three-four rings.
  • Update demographics and insurance information when scheduling/checking in patients.
  • Confirm, cancel, reschedule, and update patient appointments as requested.
  • Use the EMR system to match physician availability with patient needs.
  • Schedule appointments based on clinic guidelines and specs.
  • Maintain scheduling systems and keep patient records accurate for analysis.
  • Communicate with providers and staff about patient concerns; consult with office manager on system problems.
  • Complete requests from other medical offices (faxing records, etc.).
  • Address patient concerns efficiently and effectively.
  • Use customer service principles to handle patients calmly.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Some travel between locations.

Experience
