Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our hotel team. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for creating a welcoming experience for guests while efficiently managing check-ins, check-outs, reservations, guest requests, and general front desk operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Process reservations, cancellations, modifications, and room assignments.
- Answer guest questions and provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
- Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Process payments, maintain accurate guest accounts, and balance cash or payment transactions.
- Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to guest emails or other inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records and protect guest confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other hotel departments.
- Monitor room availability and assist with resolving room or reservation issues.
- Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and customer-service standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hotel, hospitality, customer service, or front desk experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer-service and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional, friendly, and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous when handling difficult situations.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel reservation/front-office systems.
- Ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest accounts.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform routine front desk duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a hotel property-management system (PMS).
- Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
- Hospitality or customer-service training or certification is preferred.
