Front Desk Agent at the Historic Abbey Resort

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will be part of an incredible team at an all-service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. Our goal is to hire individuals who are committed to exceeding guest expectations by creating lasting memories, maintaining a positive attitude, and providing outstanding service every time.

BASIC FUNCTION: Front Desk Agents are a key part of the resort's personality, shaping the initial and final impressions guests have of the resort. They are expected to be attentive to guests' needs, making them feel welcomed, comfortable, important, and relaxed in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience/training
  • Ability to operate necessary computer systems
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Basic understanding of PMS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to handle guest issues and recover guest satisfaction when necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Efficiently check guests in and out, providing friendly service
  • Accurately process charges, maintain cash receipts and hotel banks
  • Enter and update group reservation files
  • Assist guests with local entertainment and amenities (concierge services)
  • Follow resort policies and report violations
  • Maintain good interdepartmental relationships
  • Monitor, sell, and post gift shop items when closed
  • Collect guest feedback enthusiastically
  • Answer all guest calls, external and internal
  • Coordinate with housekeeping on guest room needs
  • Make reservations for walk-in and future guests
  • Sell gift cards to guests
  • Respond to guest texts and concerns promptly
  • Follow up with guests regarding requests fulfilled by other departments

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Shift hours may vary, including holidays, weekends, and overtime

ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor, well-lit, temperature-controlled lobby setting, standing behind a high desk on hard flooring.
