Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a full-time cook to prepare meals according to menus and dietary guidelines. You will read recipes, cook to order, plate meals, and maintain dishwashing and sanitation standards.

A team player with strong customer service and math skills is needed for a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and certification in food safety within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a cook or two years of experience in food service department preferred.
• State Food Safety Sanitation Certification within 90 days per department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determines food items and prepares them for service.
• Is able to prepare food from scratch that is appetizing and appealing.
• Cooks to order and tests foods for doneness.
• Dishes meals and portions according to diet tickets.
• Orders supplies and maintains proper temperature and log sheets.
• Maintains a clean and sanitized work area and implements sanitation techniques.
