Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Two years experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to read and follow Hawthorn recipes.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Maintains food handler permit to meet state regulations.
• Maintains CPR and first aid certification as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and daily log for instructions.
• Prepare meals following Hawthorn menus and recipes.
• Use portion control policies.
• Follow safe food handling procedures.
• Ensure food, supplies and personnel are available for planned meals.
• Oversee preparation of serving carts and serve food on time.
• Follow proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling and storing food; log leftovers.
• Clean up after meals and maintain kitchen areas and equipment.
