Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Executive Chef to lead our community kitchen, producing three scratch-made meals daily for residents while maintaining high quality and budget compliance.

You will hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensure ServSafe HACCP compliance, and partner with regional leadership to uphold Hawthorn standards of cleanliness, food cost control, and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (implied)
• Culinary Arts Degree or 5+ years high-volume cooking
• Prior management experience preferred
• ServSafe HACCP certification or equivalent required within 90 days of start

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise community kitchen staff to deliver three scratch-made meals daily
• Maintain food cost budgets and inventory control
• Ensure HACCP compliance and safety standards
• Coordinate with Community Managers and Regional Chef on menus and resident feedback
• Participate in management meetings and community events related to food service
• Ensure timely production and serving schedules 7 days a week
