Food Lion is seeking a friendly Front End Associate to provide fast, accurate, and courteous service at the checkout and service area. You will greet customers, scan items, process payments, bag orders, and help keep the front end neat and welcoming.

The role requires strong communication, a willingness to learn multiple tasks, and the ability to handle cash transactions while maintaining store standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Unload baskets and assist with bagging to ensure easy checkout.
• Scan items, process payments and follow standard cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain a neat and welcoming front-end area and follow store policies.
• Assist customers with questions and guide them to the right aisle or service desk.
• Identify opportunities to help customers, including carrying orders to cars when needed.
• Adhere to safety and cleaning standards and report issues to management.
