Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Cashier for the Donated Goods Program to deliver exceptional customer service, ring up sales, and process transactions accurately in a fast-paced store. You will greet customers and assist with questions about store operations and programs, while promoting loyalty initiatives.

You will explain Loyalty Rewards and Change Round Up, keep the floor stocked and tidy, and assist with merchandising. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with diverse customers.
• Retail sales experience is preferred and helpful for upselling and loyalty programs.
• Ability to perform basic math operations and operate POS systems accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer and assist with basic questions about store operations, merchandise, and programs to create a positive shopping experience.
• Operate electronic cash registers, credit card devices, and Point of Sale (POS) systems accurately while obtaining payment for customer purchases.
• Inform customers about the Loyalty Rewards Program and help them enroll; promote Change Round Up to support the mission.
• Move merchandise from processing areas to the sales floor and maintain organized stock and planograms for optimal access.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing; ensure safety and security in the store.
