Job summary

Community Food Co-op is seeking a friendly Cashier to deliver excellent service at the front end of the store. You will process transactions, assist with the service desk, explain Coop membership, and help with stocking and front-end operations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Prior cash handling and POS experience are preferred, with a focus on great customer experiences for members and shoppers.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly, attentive customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accuracy in cash handling and sales transactions.
• Learn and recall PLU codes, procedures, and coop policies.
• Handle member inquiries, questions about store services, and membership benefits.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Handle POS transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Assist customers at service desk and homepage membership inquiries.
• Maintain clean, organized front-end areas and stock where needed.
• Assist with cart retrieval, bagging, and general front-end tasks.
• Support center-store activities and participate in team meetings.
